Environment

  • Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff who are leaving the College
  • Bowdoin LibreChat (web application)
  • Complete these steps before your Bowdoin account is deactivated
  • Any modern web browser on macOS or Windows (managed or personal devices)

Resolution

After you leave Bowdoin, you will no longer be able to access your LibreChat chat history, files, or archives. Save any data you need before your affiliation ends.

Note: There is currently no option to download your entire chat history at once. Export individual conversations as needed.

Download a copy of a conversation

  1. In the list of chats on the left, select the title of the conversation you want to export.
  2. In the conversation window, select the export icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Choose a file format to download (options typically include .png, .txt, .md, .json, or .csv) and save the file to a secure location.

Retrieve archived conversations

  1. Select your name or profile in the lower-left corner of the window.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. On the Settings page, select Manage to the right of Archived Chats.
  4. Find the chat you need and select the Unarchive icon under Actions.
  5. To save a copy, follow the steps in Download a copy of a conversation above.
