"MATLAB® is the high-level language and interactive environment used by millions of engineers and scientists worldwide. It lets you explore and visualize ideas and collaborate across disciplines including signal and image processing, communications, control systems, and computational finance." -

MATLAB is used across the campus and across the disciplines. It is installed in all public computer spaces and labs across campus to allow MATLAB to be more readily available to students, faculty and staff.

MATLAB talks to an institutional software license manager. There are a limited number of concurrent uses for MATLAB and the toolboxes. If you try to run MATLAB and receive an error that there are "no licenses available", please try to run the software latera s all of the licenses would be in use.

There are a variety of toolboxes which Bowdoin licenses for use on all lab comptuers. The toolboxes are listed below:

  • Curve Fitting Toolbox
  • Database Toolbox
  • Financial Instruments Toolbox
  • Financial Toolbox
  • Global Optimization Toolbox
  • Mapping Toolbox
  • Neural Network Toolbox
  • Optimization Toolbox
  • Parallel Computing Toolbox
  • Signal Processing Toolbox
  • Spreadsheet Link EX
  • Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox
  • Symbolic Math Toolbox
