Resolution
Every StatusHub alert is tied to a set of services chosen on the subscription. A new subscription covers all Bowdoin services by default. Choosing selected services narrows the alerts to only the services picked, and subscribing to a service group follows a whole category at once, such as all classroom technology or all network services.
Note: StatusHub does not keep a subscriber signed in to the status page. Changing an existing subscription starts by requesting a one-time link by email.
Choose your services when you subscribe
- Open the Bowdoin status page at statushub.bowdoin.edu.
- Select Subscribe.
- Choose how to be notified, enter the detail for that method (such as an email address or mobile number), accept the terms, and select Next.
- On the Customizations screen, select All services to be alerted about everything on the status page, or select Selected services to pick individual ones. On the Selected services view, type in the filter box to find a service by name, or turn on Aggregate by groups to subscribe to whole categories.
- Select Save.
StatusHub sends a confirmation through the method chosen. For email and text message (SMS), the confirmation also verifies that the address or number belongs to the subscriber.
Change the services on a subscription you already have
These steps add a service, remove a service, or switch between all services and selected services on a subscription that already exists.
- Open the Bowdoin status page at statushub.bowdoin.edu and select Subscribe.
- Select Forgot your link? (also shown as Resend subscription link).
- Enter the detail the subscription uses, such as the subscriber's email address, and submit the request.
- Open the subscription reminder email from StatusHub and select Edit your subscription.
- On the Customizations screen, switch to Selected services and check or uncheck individual services and groups, or switch to All services.
- Select Save.
Note: A changed selection takes effect right away, so the next alert matches the new choice.
Get fewer alerts during an incident
StatusHub can send only the first and last update for each incident instead of every update in between. On the Customizations screen, reached when subscribing or when editing an existing subscription through the reminder email, turn on the option to receive the minimum number of notifications per incident, then select Save. A subscriber with the minimum-notifications option on still hears when a service goes down and when the service is restored, without the updates in between.
Stop alerts for one service
Open the subscription reminder email from StatusHub, select Edit your subscription, open the Customizations screen, uncheck the one service to stop hearing about, and select Save. The subscription stays active for every other service still checked.
To stop every StatusHub alert instead, cancel the subscription rather than change the services. See How to Unsubscribe from StatusHub Alerts in the Related Articles section.
