Resolution
All students who reside in Bowdoin College housing have access to Xfinity on Campus while connected to the Bowdoin network. This streaming service allows students to stream live TV, record up to 20 hours of previously aired content, and watch on-demand videos directly from their laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets anywhere on campus.
To access the service on a TV, students will need to use a Roku streaming player (or a TV with a built-in Roku software).
Stream over 100+ live channels including local stations
- Access to Xfinity On Demand movies and television shows
- DVR up to 20 hours of recordings
- Stream TV directly in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer
- Xfinity Stream app available on smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices
Getting Started
Accessing Xfinity on Campus
Xfinity on campus is available to all students living in on-campus housing. Students who live off campus will not have access to the service, both while in Brunswick or away. To access Xfinity on Campus, review one of the articles under the "Related Articles" section on this page for your particular need.
Included Channels
To view all of the available channels, log in to Xfinity on Campus and click the "Channels" tab. All channels with the Watch Now button are included.
Accessing Xfinity while off or away from campus
Students currently in residence in on-campus housing can continue to access streaming TV while off campus however channels local to Brunswick will not be available including WSCH 6, WMTW 8, WGME 13, and Fox.
To connect to Xfinity, you will continue to log in and access the services online or from a device app.
NOTE: You do not need connect to campus using VPN. Access is determined only by the residence listed on your account and does not require you to be on the Bowdoin network.
Access to Premium Services
Bowdoin College's licensing with Xfinity does not include any premium services including HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount+, etc. Access to these services may become available periodically from Xfinity directly but should not be considered a standard in the channels being offered. Anything that is added could be removed at any time by Xfinity.
