Overview
Request training on how to use Zoom or Microsoft Teams from a specific classroom or lab. A CTS staff member will show you how to connect the platform to the room's camera and audio, share your screen or the room display, and include people joining remotely.
When to Use This
- You'll be running Zoom or Teams meetings or classes from a campus room and want to learn how.
- You want to understand how a room's camera, microphone, and displays work with web conferencing.
- You're planning to teach a hybrid course and want training before the term starts.
- You're not sure which platform to use in the room and want guidance.
When NOT to Use This
- You have one specific upcoming session (a guest speaker, a single hybrid event) and want hands-on help running it — use Request a consult for a hybrid class or event.
- You want a general room walkthrough, not platform-specific training — use Request classroom or lab orientation.
- You need a Zoom license for longer meetings, a webinar, or a large meeting — see the Zoom service under Chat, Communication, & Collaboration.
- Something in the room is broken — use Report Room Technology Issue.
Before You Submit
- The building and room where you'll be using Zoom or Teams.
- Which platform you expect to use, if you know (or ask us to help you decide).
- A few dates and times that work for you.
What Happens Next
A CTS staff member will follow up to schedule training in the room so you can practice with the actual equipment. We'll aim for your requested date and offer alternatives if needed.
