Overview
Request hands-on help for a specific upcoming session in a classroom or lab — a hybrid class, a remote guest speaker, or a session you need recorded. A CTS staff member will help you plan and set up the right approach for the room and platform, and can help make sure it works when the time comes.
When to Use This
- You're bringing a remote guest speaker or remote participants into a class or session held in a campus room.
- You're running a hybrid meeting, interview, or event and want help with the setup.
- You have a specific date and want to be confident the technology will work.
- You're not sure whether to use Zoom or Teams for the session and want a recommendation for that room.
When NOT to Use This
- You want to learn a room, platform, or recording setup in general (not for one specific event) — use one of the training or orientation requests in this service instead.
- Room technology is broken or not working — use Report Room Technology Issue.
- You need AV staff to run a large campus event — use Request Technology Assistance for Event.
- You just need a Zoom license (longer meetings, a webinar, a large meeting) — see the Zoom service under Chat, Communication, & Collaboration.
Before You Submit
- The building and room, and the date and time of your session.
- What you want to do (guest speaker, hybrid discussion, recording, etc.) and which platform you're leaning toward, if any.
- Reach out well ahead of your session so there's time to plan and test the room.
What Happens Next
A CTS staff member will follow up to go over your plan for the space, confirm the setup, and — where helpful — arrange to test the room or be available around your session. The earlier you request, the more we can do to prepare.
