Request a Pre-Event Room Test

Overview

Book time to test a classroom or lab before an important session. A CTS staff member can meet you in the room (or set you up to test on your own) so you can confirm your laptop connects, the displays and audio work, and any Zoom, Teams, or recording setup behaves the way you expect — before it counts.

When to Use This

  • You have a high-stakes class, presentation, or event and want to verify the room ahead of time.
  • You're using your own laptop or device and want to confirm it connects to the room.
  • You want to do a quick dry run of a hybrid or recorded session.
  • You've been trained already and just want to confirm everything works on the day's setup.

When NOT to Use This

  • You don't yet know how to use the room — start with Request classroom or lab orientation or the relevant training request.
  • You want ongoing hands-on help during the actual event — use Request a consult for a hybrid class or event.
  • Something is already broken — use Report Room Technology Issue.

Before You Submit

  • The building and room, and the date of the real session you're preparing for.
  • A few dates and times you could come in to test.
  • What you want to confirm works (laptop, displays, audio, Zoom/Teams, recording).

What Happens Next

A CTS staff member will follow up to arrange room access and time for your test, ideally with enough lead time before your real session to fix anything that comes up.
