Request a Software Quote

Use This Request To

Use this request to get pricing for a software product, app, or online subscription before you commit to buying it.

When to Use This

Use this offering when:

  • You want to compare options or editions before you decide.
  • You need a price for a budget request or a grant proposal, including a Computer Allocation Process request or a Technology Budget Request.
  • You want to know the subscription or license cost for a tool you are considering.
  • You are not sure which edition or tier fits and want a recommendation with pricing.

When NOT to Use This

Don't use this offering if:

  • You already know what you want and are ready to buy. Use Request a Software Purchase.
  • You need more seats or a renewal for software IT already bought for you or your department. Use Add Licenses to Existing Software.
  • You are pricing hardware. Use Request a Hardware Quote under Hardware Purchasing in the Related Services section.
  • The product is already available at Bowdoin. Check the List of College-Provided Software and Programs in the Related Articles section.

Before You Submit

Having these ready speeds things up:

  • The product name and the vendor's website.
  • The edition or tier you are considering, if you know it.
  • How many licenses or seats you would need.
  • When you would need it, if there is a deadline.

What Happens Next

We acknowledge your request within 1 business day and put together a quote. Nothing is purchased from a quote request, and a quote does not start the security and accessibility review. When you are ready to buy, come back through Request a Software Purchase, where a new product meant for institutional use goes through that review. If you need the quote to request funds, it will support a Computer Allocation Process request or a Technology Budget Request.
