Environment
This article applies to all current and incoming Bowdoin students. The Digital Excellence Commitment (DExC) program provides a standard set of technology to all students who do not already have a Bowdoin-issued laptop and are enrolled in courses during an academic semester at Bowdoin.
Resolution
Students eligible for technology through the Digital Excellence Commitment program receive their devices at different times based on their enrollment schedule for the fall semester.
- Students enrolled at Bowdoin and taking classes on campus in the fall will receive their technology during Orientation or before classes begin for the fall semester.
- Students studying abroad in the fall but returning to campus in the spring will receive their technology before the start of the spring semester.
- Students studying abroad for the full year but returning to campus the following fall will receive their technology at the start of the next fall semester.
- Students studying abroad during the fall semester and not returning to Bowdoin — for example, those completing their degree while abroad — are not eligible for the program.
- Students who have already received a laptop and an iPad from the college through a previous program are not eligible to receive new devices through DExC.
