Issue/Question
- Daylight savings time started/ended and my clock didn't adjust, how can I change it?
- My clock didn't change when I changed time zones, how can I change it?
Environment
The Windows clock can be set to automatically adjust based on location or time of year (Daylight Savings start/end). Most computers issued by IT have the settings configured to make this change automatically, but it is possible that the settings are either not being honored or aren't set at all.
A bug has also been identified in some builds of Windows 10 that don't honor the setting correctly.
Resolution
You can verify and change, if necessary, the settings to adjust the Windows clock. Follow these steps to adjust your clock.
- Go to Settings from the Start Menu and choose "Time & Language" then "Date & Time"
- Alternatively you can right-click on the clock in your Task Bar and choose "Adjust Date/Time" from the menu options.
- The "Set time automatically" option should be on. Click it to turn it off (or turn it on, if it is on).
- Click the switch again to turn the option back on. Windows should check in with the time servers and adjust the clock accordingly.
