Configuring Also Ring and Call Forwarding for an Office Environment

Using Also Ring is an effective way of distributing calls in an office setting. If you are used to having a line ring to the whole office or even routing calls in a specific order you can do that with Also Ring in Teams.

Configuring a "Main" office line to ring to multiple people.

 If you want to send calls to your number to a group of people as well as yourself all at the same time.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Click on the three dots next to your account icon (circle with your initials) and select Settings.

  3. In the Settings menu click on Calls.

  4. Click on the drop-down menu next to Also Ring and select Call Group.

  5. Use the search window to find and add people to the Call Group.

  6. Click Save.

If you want calls to your number to go to a group of people as well as yourself but in a specific order.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Click on the three dots next to your account icon (circle with your initials) and select Settings.

  3. In the Settings menu click on Calls.

  4. Click on the drop-down menu next to Also Ring and select Call Group.

  5. Use the search window to find and add people to the Call Group.

  6. Click on the drop-down menu next to Ring order to specify whether you want the calls to go to everyone at once or go to people in a specific order. Please note that if you want the calls to go to people in a specific order you will need to add the people to the Call Group in the order that you want the calls to ring to people. The first person you add will be the first person the call will be routed to if you do not answer.

  7. Click Save.
