Create a Poll in Outlook

How can I create a poll in an Outlook email when using Windows or macOS?

This article applies to users of Microsoft Outlook on both Windows and macOS operating systems who want to engage their email recipients by adding interactive polls to their emails.

Creating a poll in an Outlook email is a straightforward process that helps in making decisions or gathering feedback from email recipients. Follow these steps to create a poll:

  1. Open Outlook: Start by launching the Microsoft Outlook application on your Windows or macOS computer.
  2. Create a New Email: Click on the “New Email” button to start composing a new message.
  3. Insert a Poll: With the new message window open, click on the “Insert” tab at the top of the window, then find and click on “Poll.” The poll option allows you to pose a question and provide multiple choice answers.
  4. Configure Your Poll: In the poll window that appears, type in your question and fill in the possible answers. You can add more than two choices by clicking on “+ Add option.” Once you’re satisfied with the poll, click “Insert into email” to embed the poll into your email message.
  5. Complete Your Email: After inserting the poll into your email, you can continue composing your message. Add any additional text or information you want to include with your poll.
  6. Send Your Email: Once your email is complete and your poll is set, hit the “Send” button. Your recipients will receive the email with the poll embedded in it, which they can answer directly from their inbox.

Note: The availability of the poll feature may depend on your Outlook version and your organization’s settings.
