Ask IT to activate an inactive (dead) network jack, install a new wired drop, or turn on an additional port in an office or campus space.
When to Use This

- A jack in your space has never worked and needs to be turned on
- You're setting up equipment (a desktop, printer, lab instrument, AV device, or phone) that needs a wired connection

- You need a second active port where there's currently only one

- A jack that used to work has stopped — use Report a Bad or Broken Network Port
- You need a fixed address or hostname for a device — use Request a Static IP, DNS Hostname, or DHCP Reservation
- The device is a printer, phone, or building system that needs to be authorized on the wired network — use Register a Wired Device for Network Access
Before You Submit

- The jack or wall-plate label, if one exists
- What you intend to connect to it
- Any date you need it working by
What Happens Next
Network Operations reviews the request and may contact you to confirm the location or schedule access. Activating an existing jack is usually quicker than installing a new drop, which may require a site visit and cabling work.
