Use this request to
Coordinate Service Desk disconnect and reconnect for an office move, small departmental relocation, or workspace setup after new furniture or a desk replacement.
When to Use This
- Your office or workspace is being relocated and your computer, monitors, and peripherals need to be unhooked and set back up
- New desks or furniture are being installed and your technology must be disconnected and reconnected
- A few people in your area are moving and their workstations need coordinated setup at the new location
- You want the Service Desk and Facilities scheduling to line up so your equipment is ready when you arrive
When NOT to Use This
- You're planning a full building move or a large departmental relocation — those start with the Facilities Project Management team as a larger planning conversation
- You only need a single computer unhooked or reconnected — use Request Computer Disconnect or Reconnect
- You only need a printer or MFD moved — use Request a Printer or MFD Relocation
- You need the physical furniture or equipment actually moved — contact Facilities Management
Before You Submit
Have ready:
- Current location and destination (building and room)
- The planned or confirmed Facilities move date
- A list of the equipment involved (computers, monitors, printers) with asset tags or device names if you know them
- Monitor arms: whether any monitors are (or will be) on a monitor arm, and if so whether it is a through-desk (grommet) or clamp-style mount — so we bring the right tools for removal and remounting
Monitor arms — two things to know:
- If mounting an arm requires drilling a hole in a desk or surface, that work is generally Facilities Management's responsibility — let us know so we can coordinate.
- Please keep the monitor's original base/stand in a safe place. You'll need it if the monitor is ever removed from the arm in the future.
What Happens Next
A Service Desk technician will review your request within 1 business day and coordinate scheduling to align with your Facilities move date. You may be contacted to confirm equipment details, monitor-arm specifics, and timing. Please allow at least 3 business days' notice; larger moves need more lead time.
