Report an Okta App or Dashboard Problem

Summary

Use this request to report an app that is missing, duplicated, greyed out, or won't open from your Okta dashboard even though you should already have access to it.

When to Use This

Use this offering when:

  • An app you're supposed to have is missing from your Okta dashboard
  • An app tile is there, but clicking it gives an error or won't load
  • You see a duplicate or outdated tile for an app
  • An app you recently gained a role or enrollment for still hasn't appeared
  • An app you no longer use is still showing and you'd like it removed
Try this first. App tiles are provisioned to you by group or individually, and a missing tile is often just a display or timing issue. Sign out completely and sign back in, confirm you're signed in with your Bowdoin account and on the correct portal, and — if you recently changed roles or enrolled — allow some time for the tile to appear. For details, see Why Don't I See an App in My Okta Dashboard? in the Related Articles section.

When NOT to Use This

Don't use this offering if:

  • You have never had access to this app and need to be granted permission to use it — use Application Access in the Related Services section
  • You can't sign in to Okta at all — use Report a Sign-In Problem
  • The problem is inside the app after it opens (a feature or data issue) rather than the tile itself — that app usually has its own support request

Before You Submit

Have ready:

  • The name of the app
  • Whether you've ever successfully opened it before, and roughly when it last worked
  • What you see now (nothing, an error, a duplicate, a greyed-out tile) — a screenshot helps
  • Whether you recently changed roles, started a new position, or enrolled in a course

What Happens Next

A technician will check whether the tile is a provisioning or display issue we can fix directly, or whether you need to be added to the app's access group. If it turns out you need to be granted access, we'll route it to the right approval process for you — you don't need to figure out which case it is. Most dashboard issues are resolved within one business day.
