Information
Polaris is Bowdoin's Student Information System (SIS). It was implemented in 2013 and replaced several different systems. From the Polaris project website:
"Polaris enables us to engage in new practices that facilitate more effective advising, support academic student planning, and aid faculty and staff in more effective curriculum planning. The processes around admission, course registration, course offerings, and grade submission, among others, have new automated and online components, increasing efficiency as well as efficacy."
Staff Information
Access is available to staff as needed. If you need to have access to Polaris or any of its components including DegreeWorks, Cognos, or Banner, you may click on "Request Access" on the right and completely fill out the form.
Note: Supervisor approval is required before access will be granted for most staff. Please enter your supervisor's information on the form and make your supervisor aware that an authorization request will be sent to them by email. Access won't be granted without authorization.
If you should already have access to Polaris but are unable to log in, please let us know.
Faculty and Student Information
All faculty and students will have access to Polaris and Class Finder automatically. If you are a faculty or student and are experiencing an issue accessing Polaris, please let us know.
