Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff who own a SharePoint site and need to verify a user's permissions to a specific site. These steps require permissions group owner access to the site being managed.
Resolution
- Open the SharePoint site to be managed.
- At the site home screen, select the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Site Permissions.
- Select Advanced permission settings to open the permissions group site.
- In the top ribbon, select the Check Permissions tab.
- In the new window, begin searching for the user or group by entering the information in the supplied text box.
- Select the user once the user's name begins to auto-populate in the dropdown list.
- Select the Check Now button.
- A full list of membership and permissions is presented.
