Position the Meeting Owl

Rectangle conference table with a TV at one end, an Owl camera in the middle on the table, and seven chairs around the table.

For the best audio and video experience, position the Meeting Owl as follows:

  • Place it at the center or end of the table
  • Keep it at least 3 feet away from any TV or display to prevent audio feedback
  • Ensure it is no more than 8 feet from the farthest in-room attendee
  • Alternatively, mount it on a tripod positioned in the center of the room

Connect the Meeting Owl

A guide for connecting the Owl to a laptop and then a power outlet.

  1. Locate the USB and power ports on the base of the Meeting Owl.
  2. Connect the Meeting Owl to the computer or laptop using the USB cable. Use the included USB-C adapter if the computer only has USB-C ports.
  3. Plug the power adapter into the Meeting Owl and connect the other end to a power outlet.
  4. The Meeting Owl will power on automatically. An audible "hoot" will play when it wakes up.
  5. Wait for the ring of lights to illuminate — this indicates the device is ready.
  6. If using macOS, click Allow when prompted to grant the device microphone and camera access.

Use with Microsoft Teams

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to Settings.
  2. Under Devices, select Meeting Owl as the speaker, microphone, and camera.
  3. Start or join a meeting. The Meeting Owl will automatically track the active speaker and provide a 360° view of the room.

  2. Under Audio, select Meeting Owl as the speaker and microphone.
  3. Under Video, select Meeting Owl as the camera.
