Environment
This article applies to all current Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff seeking support for email, calendar, or contacts applications.
- Supported applications: Microsoft Outlook (web, desktop, and mobile), Apple Mail, Apple Calendar, Apple Contacts
- Not covered: Personal email accounts (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, etc.) — Bowdoin IT supports Bowdoin-issued accounts only
Resolution
Several support options are available for email, calendar, and contacts issues:
- Bowdoin Bot: Click the polar bear avatar in the lower-right corner of any KB page. Enter your question, and the bot will provide an immediate answer if it knows the information.
- Live chat: Click the polar bear avatar and select Chat with live agent. Live chat is available during business hours only.
- In person: Visit the Tech Hub in Smith Union during regular operating hours for walk-in assistance.
- Submit a ticket: Open a request via the Service Catalog and a technician will follow up with you.
- Phone: Call the Service Desk at (207) 725-3030.
Not sure which app to use? For Bowdoin-managed Macs and iPads, Microsoft Outlook is the recommended and fully supported email and calendar client. Apple Mail, Calendar, and Contacts can be configured for Bowdoin accounts but may have limited support for advanced features.
