General Use Team

A Team will remain active as long as it is used or accessed at least once every 180 days. If a Team is not accessed within a 3 month period of time, Office 365 will send an email to the Team owner(s) letting them know that the Team will be deleted. They will receive an email 30 days before expiration, 15 days before expiration and 1 day before expiration. If nothing is done, the team expire and will be deleted.

Departmental Team

Some teams, used by departments, will generally not have an expiration but if an expiration policy is accidentally applied, the same rules as above will be followed.
