Microsoft Teams is available for nearly all platforms. It can be downloaded and installed in Windows, MacOS, some Linux distributions, iOS and Android OS. Information Technology has delivered Teams to Bowdoin-issued computers either automatically or through our managed software tools.
Hint: The formal app name for Teams is "Microsoft Teams". If you are looking at your apps alphabetically, it will appear under "M" and not "T".
Install Microsoft Teams on Bowdoin-issued computer
Microsoft Teams should already be installed on all Bowdoin computers. If you are unable to locate it, follow the steps below for your computer type.
MacOS
To install Microsoft Teams on a Bowdoin-issued computer:
- Go to your "Applications" folder.
- Browse through the list and open "Self Service"
- Once Self Service is open, type Teams in the search bar in the upper-right corner of the windows
- When the Teams icon shows up, click Install
If the button says "Remove", Teams is already installed.
- Click on "Updates" in the from the icons on the top of the window
- Click "Update All" to install all required updates as well as Microsoft Teams.
Windows
Microsoft Teams has been automatically installed on Bowdoin-issued Windows computers through some back-end settings. If Microsoft Teams is not on your computer, please contact the Service Desk by email at servicedesk@bowdoin.edu and include your computer's BID number or computer name. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
