Accessing a Padlet from your Blackboard course page (Students)

Description

Padlet is an online virtual “bulletin” board, where students and teachers can collaborate, reflect, share links and pictures, in a secure location. There are a number of ways to access your Padlet, however, the first time that you access one from your Blackboard course page you will need to do so in a web browser from your computer or iPad.

Accessing a Padlet from a web browser on your computer (Students)

1. Click on the Padlet link on your Blackboard course page:

 

2. You will briefly see a screen like this before you are taken to your Padlet.

3. This will also create your Padlet account if this is your first time accessing a Padlet.

 

Accessing a Padlet From Safari on your iPad (Students).

1. Click and hold on the Padlet link on your Blackboard course page:

2. Tap on the “Open in new window” option

3. Drag the divider in the middle of the screen over to reveal your Padlet in a full window. This will also create your Padlet account if this is your first time accessing a Padlet.

 

Access a Padlet in the Padlet app (download for free from the App Store).

Note: Before you use the app, make sure you have already created a Padlet naccount using one of the methods above. 

1. Open the Padlet app and tap the Login button:

2. At the bottom of the next page tap on the “Log in to your Org” button:

3. On the next screen tap on “Login with Microsoft”:

4. Complete your regular Bowdoin login experience. You will now be in your Padlet dashboard. You can find Padlets that you have been working on in the “Shared” area. Any Padlets that you have created will be found in the “Made” area:

 

Note: If you open your Padlet app and don’t see a Padlet that has been shared with you by your professor try accessing it from either a computer or Safari on your iPad and make a post on it. Then go back to your Padlet app and toggle between “Made” and “Shared” - it should then show up in the “Shared” area.
