Questions
How do I record a Zoom meeting in a classroom with a PTZ camera, using the instructor's computer?
Environment
This guide applies to scenarios where a Zoom meeting needs to be recorded in a classroom. The classroom is equipped with a PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera connected to the instructor's computer, which has the Zoom app already installed. The client must sign in using a Bowdoin username and password.
Resolution
- Sign In to Zoom: Open the Zoom application on the instructor's computer. Enter your Bowdoin username and password to sign in.
- Start or Join a Meeting: Use the options available to either start a new meeting or join an existing meeting that you wish to record.
- Select Video Settings: Ensure the PTZ camera is selected as the video source. This can typically be done by clicking on the small arrow next to the camera icon and selecting the PTZ camera from the list.
- Adjust Camera View: Use the camera controls to position the PTZ camera to your desired view. These controls might be on the camera itself or available within the Zoom app in the video settings section.
- Begin Recording: Once the meeting has started, click on the 'Record' button located at the bottom of the Zoom window. Choose whether you want to save the recording locally on the computer or to the cloud, if that option is available and supported.
- End Recording: To stop recording at the end of your meeting, press the 'Stop Recording' button. Ensure that the recording is saved properly, either locally on your computer or in the cloud.
- Sign Out of Zoom: After you have finished and saved your recording, sign out of your Zoom account from the instructor's computer to maintain account security.
