Environment
This article applies to staff, faculty, and students who use Microsoft Teams who want to install Teams apps as installation of new apps is restricted without approval.
Resolution
- Open Microsoft Teams on your computer, web browser, or mobile device.
- In the left-side menu, click on Apps to browse the Teams app store.
- Search for the app you want to install by typing its name in the search bar.
- If you see a Request approval button instead of Add or Install, click Request approval.
- Fill in any additional details if prompted, such as why you need the app or how you plan to use it.
- Submit your request. Your Teams administrator will receive a notification or request for review.
- The administrator will review your request and decide whether to approve or decline the app installation. You will receive a notification once a decision is made.
- If you need the app urgently or haven’t received a response, follow up with the Service Desk for an update.
