Hawthorne-Longfellow Media Commons

Introduced in the fall of 2015, the Media Commons brings together the former Scratch Space with the former Language Media Center into one new, larger, more useable space. The Media Commons features 10 iMac computers for student use, multiple video viewing workstations, a recording studio, a small group work room and a video viewing classroom.

Seating Capacity: 10 iMac computers for student use, 2 iMac Kiosks for general web work, 7 video viewing stations and plenty of comfortable seating.

Technology

Computer Workstations

• iMacs providing macOS and a virtual Windows operating system
  • Information on how to access the Virtual Windows Lab
  • NOTE: These iMacs do not have integrated DVD drives. You may need to use the ECR.
• A list of software for either operating system can be found here.

A/V Technologies

• Various video viewing workstations with TV monitors and region-free DVD players and connections for accessing LaserDisc, VHS and Blu-Ray disks as well.
