Cascade 8 classes are open to staff responsible for managing and editing their department/office websites and faculty/staff interested in managing their own profiles. 


Introduction to Cascade 8

Cascade 8 is the content management system (CMS) Bowdoin uses to manage its primary website, bowdoin.edu. This class is required for editors tasked with managing their department/office websites.

Length: 60-minute online tutorial

Who should take this class?

  • New website editors tasked with managing their department/office websites and keeping them up-to-date.
  • Existing website editors who have already taken the class and want a refresher course.

Objectives:

  • Learn how to use the basic tools within the CMS to edit and publish content on department/office sites.
  • Identify tools available to organize and present content on the web.
  • Identify and correct non-accessible web content.

Classes are offered once per semester. Please use the Website Service Request form to be added to the training list. 


Faculty/Staff Profiles

Learn how to edit and update faculty and staff profile pages. Add a new profile photo, update your publications, create a short bio. This class will introduce you to our content management system (Cascade 8) and have you updating your faculty/staff profile pages in 30 minutes.

Length: 30-minute online tutorial

Who should take this class?

  • Current faculty or staff who would like to learn how to update their profile pages.
  • Site editors who want to learn how to update faculty profile pages for their department.

Prerequisite: None

Classes are offered once per semester. Please use the Website Service Request form to be added to the training list.
