Cascade 8 classes are open to staff responsible for managing and editing their department/office websites; faculty/staff interested in managing their own profiles; and student workers employed by departments/offices to manage web content.
Introduction to Cascade 8
Cascade 8 is the content management system (CMS) Bowdoin uses to manage its primary website, bowdoin.edu. This class is required for editors tasked with managing their department/office websites.

Who should take this class?
- New website editors tasked with managing their department/office websites and keeping them up-to-date.
- Existing website editors who have already taken the class and just want a refresher.
Objectives:
- Learn how to use the basic tools within the CMS to edit and publish content on department/office sites.
- Identify tools available to organize and present content on the web.
- Identify and correct non-accessible web content.
- Create, update, and remove faculty and staff profiles from department staff listings.

Faculty/Staff Profiles
Learn how to edit and update faculty and staff profile pages. Add a new profile photo, update your publications, create a short bio. This class will introduce you to our content management system (Cascade 8) and have you updating your faculty/staff profile pages in 30 minutes.

- Current faculty or staff who would like to learn how to update their profile pages.
- Site editors who want to learn how to update faculty profile pages for their department.
