The transcribe feature converts speech to a text transcript with each speaker individually separated. After your conversation, interview, or meeting, you can revisit parts of the recording by playing back the timestamped audio and edit the transcription to make corrections. You can save the full transcript as a Word document or insert snippets of it into existing documents.

Live captioning (called live transcription) in Zoom is available to all faculty, staff, and students. Live transcriptions show text to speech on the lower part of the Zoom window or in a full transcript window. Live transcripts are machine-generated and while they are not as accurate as a person, they can be helpful for participants in a loud or public space, do not have access to headphones or speakers, are English language learners, or benefit from hearing and reading content simultaneously.

This guide is for departments transitioning files from the department drive on Microwave (J:) to Microsoft Teams with SharePoint files. The Bowdoin Service Desk will support your team in setting up a Microsoft Team and migrating organized files from microwave to the Files tab in the department Team's channels. As part of this process, staff from the College Archives' Records Management Program will help with evaluating older files for transfer to the Archives or deletion.
