Digital Signage

What This Service Is

Digital Signage is Bowdoin's service for showing announcements, events, and information on the digital displays around campus. The displays run on Carousel, a web-based platform where departments create and schedule content, and each screen is driven by a media player (an Apple TV or BrightSign). Use this service to get help with a sign, manage who can publish to a display, or request a new display.

Who It's For

Faculty, staff, and departments that manage or publish to a campus display. Publishing access is granted per display, so most people work with the sign or signs their department owns. Requests to add or remove someone's access, or to add a new display, are typically made by the department that owns the sign.

How to Get Started or Get Help

  • Is a sign blank, frozen, offline, or showing the wrong content, or do you need help using Carousel? Use Report a Digital Sign or Carousel Problem.
  • Need to give someone publishing access to a sign, or remove it? Use Manage Digital Sign Access.
  • Want to add a new display to a campus space? Use Request a New Digital Display.
  • New to Carousel and want help getting started, or a content and design consultation? Use Request Digital Signage Training or Consultation.

Not What You're Looking For?

  • Do you want to learn how to publish, schedule, or design content yourself? See the About Digital Signage (Carousel) at Bowdoin article in the Related Articles section for step-by-step guides.
  • Is a classroom or meeting-room display or projector not working (not a digital sign)? Use Report a Room Technology Issue in the Related Services section.

Most requests are acknowledged within 1 business day and resolved within 3 to 5 business days. A public sign that is completely offline is prioritized and addressed more quickly during Service Desk hours. For urgent issues, contact the Service Desk at (207) 725-3030.
