Environment
This applies to Bowdoin faculty and staff who manage department or office websites in the Cascade content management system (CMS), as well as faculty and staff who want to maintain their own profile pages. All classes are currently held virtually.
Resolution

All CMS training classes are now virtual and are held once per semester. Cascade 8 classes are open to staff responsible for managing and editing their department or office websites, and to faculty and staff interested in managing their own profiles.
Note: We cannot guarantee a specific training time or date, but we will assist with all website updates until your training has been completed.
How to register
Submit a Website Request through the Service Catalog to be added to the CMS training list.
Introduction to Cascade 8
Cascade 8 is the content management system (CMS) Bowdoin uses to manage its primary website, bowdoin.edu. This class is required for editors tasked with managing their department or office websites.
- Length: 60-minute online tutorial
- Prerequisite: None
Who should take this class?
- New website editors tasked with managing their department or office websites and keeping them up-to-date.
- Existing website editors who have already taken the class and want a refresher course.

Faculty/Staff Profiles
Learn how to edit and update faculty and staff profile pages. Add a new profile photo, update your publications, and create a short bio. This class will introduce you to our content management system (Cascade 8) and have you updating your faculty/staff profile pages in 30 minutes.
- Length: 30-minute online tutorial
- Prerequisite: None
Who should take this class?
- Current faculty or staff who would like to learn how to update their profile pages.
- Site editors who want to learn how to update faculty profile pages for their department.
Classes are offered once per semester. Please use the Website Service Request form to be added to the training list.
