Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin College students, faculty, and staff using college-managed Macs with the Jamf Self Service app installed. It is relevant when an application in Self Service cannot be installed, shows "Reinstall," or appears stuck.
Resolution
- Open the Self Service app from your Applications folder.
- If an app shows Reinstall, Self Service recognizes the app is already installed but can reinstall it if needed. If you are having trouble, click Reinstall.
- If Reinstall does not resolve the issue, quit Self Service completely by clicking the Self Service menu at the top left and choosing Quit Self Service.
- Restart your Mac. Restarting can resolve many temporary glitches with Self Service or the installation process.
- Log back in, reopen the Self Service app, and try installing or reinstalling the application again.
