Many Windows computers have difficulty opening photos saved in the .heic format which has become the standard on iPhones and iPads. This guide will instruct you on how to change the settings on your iOS device to save photos in the JPEG format so sharing them with Windows computers doesn't require them install extensions, or have to convert them for use.
 

iPhone / iPad

  1. Open Settings on the device.
  2. Scroll down to Camera and select it.
  3. Tap on Formats.
  4. Select Most Compatible.
