Restore your Druva inSync data to a new device

If your device is backed up by Druva inSync, that data can be restored to a replacement computer.    Once the data is restored, Druva inSync will backup the replacement device.

  1. If the Druva inSync client is not already installed on the replacement device, install "Druva inSync".
    1. For macOS, install through the "Self Service" app
    2. For Windows OS, install through the "Company Portal" app.
    3. For more information, see the "Related Articles" section.
  2. Launch Druva inSync.   The "Activate Backup" windows appears.
  3. Select "inSync Cloud" from the Backup Cloud drop-down box. Enter your full Bowdoin email address in the "Email" field.   You will be directed to Bowdoin's Okta single sign-on where you can enter your Bowdoin credentials.
  4. After entering your credentials you will be directed back to the inSync Configure window.
  5. Click Replace an Existing Device.
  6. Select the device that you want to replace in the Select Device to Replace window.
  7. Click Replace.
  8. In the Ready for Backup window, click Restore Now to restore existing data to the new computer.
  9. Click Restore
  10. Click Restore at the "Items with same name and location on this device will be overwritten." window.
  11. You will be notified once the restore operation completes successfully.
  12. Reboot your computer.
