Environment
This article applies to all current Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff accessing Bowdoin email and calendar via a web browser.
- Platform: Any modern web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge) on any operating system or device
- Service: Bowdoin email and calendar are hosted in Microsoft 365, accessible as Outlook Online (browser-based), the Outlook desktop app, or the Outlook mobile app

Resolution
There are two ways to reach Outlook Online in a browser. Both require your Bowdoin username, password, and a registered multi-factor authentication (MFA) device.
Option 1: Via the Bowdoin Okta portal (recommended)
- Open a web browser and go to login.bowdoin.edu.
- Sign in with your Bowdoin username and password, then complete the MFA prompt.
- Click the Microsoft Office 365 Mail tile.
- Outlook Online will open in your browser.
Tip: The Okta portal at
login.bowdoin.edu is the central launch point for all Bowdoin Microsoft 365 apps — including email, calendar, Teams, OneDrive, and more.
Option 2: Direct login at outlook.office.com
- Open a web browser and go to outlook.office.com.
- Enter your full Bowdoin email address and click Next.
- Enter your Bowdoin password and complete the MFA prompt.
- Outlook Online will open.
