Add your Okta Verify account to a new iOS device

Description

  • You have purchased / received a new iOS device (iPhone / iPad) and you need to add Okta Verify to the new device.
  • You have a new iPhone and need to add Okta Verify to it.

Environment

Setting up Okta Verify on a new or additional iOS device. This process assumes that you either have your old device available OR you have a different factor configured, such as Touch ID, in your account.

Steps to add a new iOS device to your Okta account (other factor available)

If you already use Okta Verify and what to setup your account on a new or additional device, you might have to remove the existing Okta Verify information from your Okta profile. This will only work if you either have:

Both the old device and new phone or iPad

-OR-

Have a factor other than Okta Verify from your old phone setup to be able to log in.

Steps to add a new iOS device to your Okta account (old phone available)

You can use your old phone to make a Bluetooth connection to your new phone, which will allow you to transfer your Okta Verify data and security settings. This requires you have access to BOTH phones.

Follow the steps from Okta to perform this migration.
