Hubbard West (Pickering Room)

The Pickering Room is a classroom that offers professors the flexibility of instructing students in a classroom environment, while at the same time allowing them to bring technology use into their coursework. The room is designed to help professors and students give elaborate audio and video presentations.

Location: Hubbard Hall, Room 213 (Pickering Room).
Hours: Open by Reservation.
Room Type: Classroom.
Seating Capacity: 50.

Technology

Instructor/Podium Station:

  • Mac Mini providing Mac OS and a virtual Windows operating system.
  • HDMI, USB, and Ethernet Laptop/iPad hook-up available at instructor's station.
  • 20" Instructor Monitor.
  • Logitech 1080p Webcam w/built-in microphone.
    • NOTE:  Primary Zoom/MS Teams device!
  • A list of software for either operating system can be found here.

A/V Technologies:

  • NEC NP-PX750U 3-chip DLP Projector.
    • Ceiling Mounted, native resolution of 1920x1200.
  • Extron Touch Panel Control (next to Instructor Station in wooden mill work).
    • Controls lights, shades, audio and video outputs.
  • Region Free Blu-ray/DVD/CD Player.
    • Note: Player is located on shelf underneath Extron Touch Panel Control.
  • Room Audio.
  • Digital Document Camera.
  • Vocal reinforcement Instructor:  Yes - Shure Lavaliere microphone/body pack to room audio (Resides on shelf underneath Extron Touch Panel Control).
  • Vocal reinforcement Audience:  Yes - Catchbox to room audio.
  • Hearing Assist:  Yes, Hearing Loop (Inductive/T-coil):  Compatible with Telecoil-enabled hearing aids or cochlear implants for improved sound clarity and understanding. If a person does not have a compatible hearing aid and/or would like hearing assistance in a space, portable hearing devices are available.
