Guest Printing Request

What This Request Is For

Use this request to set up temporary PaperCut printing access for a visitor or guest who does not have a Bowdoin account. Guest printing at Bowdoin is primarily available at the Hawthorne-Longfellow (H&L) Library.

Bowdoin community members: Students, faculty, and staff already have PaperCut accounts and do not need to request guest access. If you are a Bowdoin community member having trouble printing, use Request PaperCut Software Help instead.

When to Use This

Use this offering when:

  • A conference attendee, visiting scholar, or non-Bowdoin collaborator needs to print at a campus MFD
  • You are hosting an event or visitor and need temporary printing access arranged in advance
  • A guest needs printing access for a defined period (a day, a week, a semester)
  • A non-Bowdoin person needs to print at the H&L Library and does not have a Bowdoin login

When Not to Use This

Don't use this offering if:

  • You are a Bowdoin student, faculty, or staff member — you already have a PaperCut account; use Request PaperCut Software Help if you're having trouble printing
  • You are a student requesting additional personal print funds — use Request Additional Print Funds instead
  • The guest needs printing access immediately or as a walk-in — for same-day guest printing at the H&L Library, Library staff can assist directly at the service desk without a prior request

Before You Submit

Have the following ready before filling out the form:

  • The guest's name
  • The dates they will need printing access (start and end)
  • The location where they will be printing (building/room or H&L Library)
  • An estimated print volume, if known
  • A contact name (faculty or staff member sponsoring the guest's access)

What Happens Next

The Service Desk will set up a guest PaperCut account and provide login credentials within 1–2 business days. For same-day or walk-in guest printing needs at the H&L Library, Library staff can assist directly without a prior IT request.
