Environment

This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students. It covers uploading a Zoom recording file that has already been downloaded to your computer. Most Bowdoin Zoom cloud recordings transfer automatically to Panopto — use this workflow for local recordings (saved directly to your computer during a meeting) or any downloaded recording you want to store in OneDrive for sharing or long-term access.

Resolution

For most recordings, check Panopto first. Cloud recordings from Bowdoin Zoom meetings are transferred to Panopto automatically. If the recording is already in Panopto, you do not need to upload it to OneDrive separately — Panopto is the preferred long-term video storage platform at Bowdoin.
  1. Log in to Bowdoin OneDrive at office365.bowdoin.edu/onedrive with your Bowdoin credentials.
  2. In the left navigation, click My Files [1].
  3. Click Upload [2] in the toolbar near the top of the page.
  4. Choose the upload type [3][4]:
    • Files — Select this to upload a single recording file (such as an .mp4 video file).
    • Folder — Select this if your Zoom recording was saved as a folder containing multiple files (video, audio, and transcript).
  5. Locate the Zoom recording file or folder on your computer and select it to begin the upload.

Where does Zoom save local recordings? By default, Zoom saves local recordings to a Zoom folder in your Documents folder (on Mac: ~/Documents/Zoom · on Windows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Zoom). Each meeting gets its own subfolder named with the date and meeting title.
