Environment

This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students who have Zoom cloud recordings in their account. Bowdoin Zoom recordings are transferred to Panopto automatically — recordings visible in Zoom are those still awaiting transfer or that were not transferred. Deleting a recording from Zoom does not affect any copy already in Panopto.

Resolution

Auto-deletion policy: Zoom cloud recordings are automatically deleted after 180 days from the recording date. If you need to keep a recording, download it or verify it has transferred to Panopto before it expires.
  1. Go to bowdoin.zoom.us and sign in with your Bowdoin credentials.
  2. In the left navigation, click Recordings [1].
  3. At the top of the page, confirm you are on the Cloud Recordings tab [2].
  4. To delete specific recordings, check the box next to each recording you want to remove [3]. To select all recordings shown on the page, check the box at the top of the checkbox column.
  5. Click Delete Selected [4] to delete the checked recordings, or click Delete All [5] to remove all recordings in the list.

Deleted recordings go to Zoom's trash for 30 days. After deletion, recordings are held in the Zoom trash and can be restored during that window. After 30 days they are permanently and irreversibly deleted. Before deleting, confirm the recording has either transferred to Panopto or been downloaded if you need to keep it.
