- Platforms: macOS and Windows 11.
- Included apps: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 apps.
- Web option: You can also use the apps in a browser without installing anything by signing in to Microsoft 365.
Resolution
Install the Microsoft 365 apps using the method that matches your device. Bowdoin-issued devices use a managed installer; personal devices install from the Microsoft 365 portal.
Install on a Bowdoin-issued device
- macOS: Open Self Service and install Microsoft Office 365.
- Windows: Open the Company Portal app and install Microsoft Office 365.
Install on a personal Mac or Windows computer
- Go to https://portal.office.com.
- Log in with your Bowdoin email address and password.
- In the lower-left column, select Apps, then More apps.
- In the upper right, select the Install apps drop-down.
- Select Microsoft 365 apps, then in the window that opens select Install Office to download the installer package.
- Save the package somewhere you can find it, such as your Desktop or Downloads folder.
- Locate the package and double-click it to start the installer, then follow the on-screen instructions to finish.
