Environment
Staff, faculty, or student who have an iPhone or iPad and would like to set up Apple's Mail app to use with their Bowdoin email account.
Resolution
NOTE: Okta Verify or another factor are required to access a Bowdoin email account.
- Open the Settings app on your Apple device.
- Tap on Apps, then Mail.
- Tap Mail Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Choose Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your Bowdoin email address and an account description, then tap Next and Sign In.
- Tap Continue on the popup that says “Settings wants to use ‘microsoftonline.com’ to sign in.”
- Enter your Bowdoin email address when prompted.
- Authenticate with OKTA or Another Factor
- Tap Continue on the popup that says “Do you trust bowdoin.edu?”
- Tap Save, then open the Mail app to finish setting up your account.
Remove a Bowdoin email account from Mail
When you graduate, leave the college or otherwise just decide, you can remove your Bowdoin email account from the Mail app with the following steps.
- Open the Settings app
- Tap on Apps, then Mail.
- Tap Mail Accounts.
- Tap Exchange (or the name of your Bowdoin account).
- Tap Delete Account
