All MacBook Pros, iPads, Apple Pencils, and Apple Magic Keyboards that have been provided to students as well as the iPads provided to faculty, come with 4-year AppleCare+. This coverage includes accidental damage or hardware malfunction for 4 years from purchase.
If you have a Bowdoin-issued Apple device distributed as part of the Digital Excellence Commitment program, you can request assistance for a variety of hardware and software issues. Some examples include:
- Cracked or broken screen
- Broken iPad
- Liquid Spills
- Broken Apple Pencil (not including a damaged pencil tip)
- and more

Eligibility:
This service is available to faculty, staff and students with an iPad or Laptop distributed as part of the Digital Excellence Commitment.
Note: Students who received an 11" iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard and Apple pencil MUST contact Apple on their own to receive a repair to pay a nominal service fee(s). For more information, view the article under the "Related Articles" section.

Cost:
There is a service fee for the 11" or 12.9" iPad Pro and their related accessories. This is needed for any physical damage replacement or any hardware replacement after the initial 90-day manufacturer's warranty
- $49 for each iPad instance
- $29 for each Apple Magic Keyboard instance
- $29 for each Apple Pencil instance.
Please Note: Replacements for lost or stolen accessories such as an iPad charger, USB charging cable or the Apple Pencil are not covered under this program. Replacement is the responsibility of the student and/or department.

Because the majority of this service is handled by Apple, we will defer to Apple's service offerings.
