Environment
- This article applies to students, faculty, and staff who need to scan documents in color using any campus multi-function printer (MFP) that includes a scanner, copier, and printer.
- These devices are managed through PaperCut, Bowdoin’s print management system.
Resolution
- Go to a campus multi-function printer that supports scanning.
- Tap your OneCard on the card reader to log in, enter your Bowdoin ID number, or manually log in using your Bowdoin username and password on the touchscreen.
- Once logged in, select the Scan option from the main menu.
- Choose your scanning destination. Most users scan to email, so tap Scan to My Email. You can also choose a different destination if you’ve configured it previously.
- Before placing your document, tap Settings.

- Find the Color Mode setting. Change it from B & W or Auto to Color.

- Adjust any other desired settings, such as resolution or file format (PDF is recommended).
- Place your document face up in the feeder tray (for multipage documents) or face down on the scanner glass (for single pages).
- Press Start Scanning to begin scanning. The document will be scanned in color and automatically sent to the selected destination.
- When finished, tap Log Out on the screen.
