Advanced PaperCut Scanning

Issue/Question

  • I need to scan 2-sided documents, how can I scan both sides while keeping them in the same document?
  • I have a color document but I'd like them scanned in gray scale.
  • I have a multi-page document that I need to scan in using the scanner glass, how can I scan more than one page and make sure they're all in the same final document?
  • How can I scan a document into a JPG or TIFF?

Environment

PaperCut has the ability to perform more advanced scanning functions such as separating batch scan tasks into smaller documents with the inclusion of a blank page and a lot more. The rest of this article will show some additional options available to you when scanning with PaperCut.

Below are some of the advanced options available when scanning with PaperCut.

Scan multiple pages of a single document using manual scanner

To scan multiple pages of a single or multiple documents

  1. Sign in to PaperCut at the device
  2. Tap the Scan button
  3. (Optional) If you have an project code assigned in Papercut, either search for and tap your project code from the list or tap the Use personal account button on the right.
  4. Choose your destination.
     
  5. Tap the checkbox at the bottom on the PaperCut screen next to "Prompt for more pages"


     
  6. Now, after you tap Start scanning, a new screen will appear.
    • If you want to scan additional pages, tap Scan more pages
    • If you want to scan a new document, tap Scan new document
    • If you're done, tap Finish and send or wait for the timer to complete the countdown.


       
  7. Your document(s) will be delivered to their final destination.

Access additional scan settings including 2-sided scanning, changes to file type, DPI, and more

You can change the settings of our scanned document before you begin scanning to change additional options if needed.

  1. Sign in to PaperCut at the device
  2. Tap the Scan button
  3. (Optional) If you have an project code assigned in Papercut, either search for and tap your project code from the list or tap the Use personal account button on the right.
  4. Choose your destination.
     
  5. Tap the Settings button on the right.

  6. On the "Scan Settings" screen, you will have access to: 
    • Select the duplex mode
    • Select the paper size
    • Auto detect size
    • Orientation
    • File Type
    • DPI
    • Color Mode
  7. In addition to the above, you can also check the box to "Prompt for more pages".

  8. Once you've made your selections, tap Start scanning
